The Position:
The Field Engineer will be responsible for technical support to sales by providing technical knowledge to clients in the South Asia region. Provide support for both pre/post sale by conducting technical presentations, product demonstrations, RFP/Q responses and product implementations.
Experience and Skills:
- A strong background in supporting sales for telecom equipment manufacturers
- 5-8 years experience working for telecom network operators and/or equipment vendors with a focus on applications and solution
- BE/BTech/MTech in Electronics & Communications/Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science, MBA a plus
- A general technical understanding of:
- IMS and SIP based network architectures including solution components and protocols
- IN network architectures including solution components and protocols
- Services Broker and SCIM concepts, technologies and products
- SOA and Web Services knowledge
- Java standards, specifically JAIN/JSLEE
- Prepaid and charging
- Proven experience that demonstrates:
- Comfortable knowledge of telecom service call flows and relevant call control and messaging protocols
- Strong teaming skills
- Strong English communications skills - verbal, written and presentation
- Self-motivated, ability to complete objectives with minimal direct supervision
- Willingness to take ownership of issues, make decisions, follow through and ‘get the job done’
- Organized, even tempered, impartial, objective, extroverted, confident and able to ‘think outside the box’
Principal responsibility and duties:
- Present Technology & solution positioning workshops to demonstrate product capabilities, to customers and partners
- Clearly document the solution for technical requirements as described by customer
- Develop and deliver customized technical presentations, product demonstrations and installation/implementations
- Develop technical responses to RFP/RFI/RFQ
- Engineer dimensioning requirements for service platforms according to customer specifications
- Conduct training programs
- Support of integration of jNETx technology within partner and operator interoperability labs
- Able to travel national and international.
